Class Offerings & Leveling

Our class leveling is based on SILK FLUENCY, or your ability to enter/exit/interact with the hammock. It is so vital for your experience and safety that you start at the right level; please read below but don’t hesitate to reach out via text or email with questions!

Class Descriptions

Level I

Intro to Aerial Hammock/Sling

Start here! Your intro class that will familiarize you with basic postures in and out of the silk, inversion instruction, and transitions. Expect some gentle stretching and strengthening as we interact with this new tool.

Barre Blast!

Have you ever taken barre but wished it was even less stable? This one is for you! Use the silk as a barre AND a prop for pulling work; expect sweat, pulsing, shaking, and groovy tunes.

Abs & Arms

This highly specific workout experience utilizes the silk, along with bands, balls, props, sliders, etc. to build strength in the arms/shoulders and abs/core!

Zen Flight

Let’s decompress and get rid of some of that stress! This chill class is designed to help you unwind; expect gentle stretching, restorative postures, and delicious savasana. Expect a gentle experience; this is one of our members’ favorite classes to bring new friends to.

Fit Flight Level I

Let’s get sweaty! Enjoy how the silk can be used similar to TRX straps in this full-body workout; expect to use weights, bands, balls, and sliders in addition to the silk to build strength and stamina.

Yin Flight

Our hammocks are lowered very close to the floor so you can slowly relax into these long-held stretches. There are no inversions in this class; classes with the sound bath are accompanied by the vibrations of the singing bowls as played by your qualified instructor.

Level II

Body Laboratory

This is your hour to work through those bodily sore or sticky spots without worrying so much about transitions or flow. Expect gentle, physical-therapy-inspired exercises for strength and mobility, nerve flossing, myofascial release with both the silk and TuneUp Balls.

Fit Flight Level II

A whole body workout utilizing weights, bands, balls, and the hammock! Expect more hammock work (inverted crunches, anyone?) than Fit Flight Level I.

Aerial Conditioning & Pathways

If you’re wanting to pursue tricks, THIS IS YOUR DOORWAY! Build aerial-specific strength and mobility before working on common silk pathways in the Level III & IV classes. Expect to sweat, collaborate, and move to some groovy tunes; bring leg and armpit coverage.

Aerial Flow

Stretch, strengthen, and flow! This class, similar to a Vinyasa or Hatha yoga practice, incorporates inversions, transitions, and yoga-asana vocabulary. Expect grounding/meditation, warmup into an aerial flow, and longer-held inversions with transitions.

Aerial Dance Level II

Yes you can dance! Learn a new combo each week in this class that includes a grounded warmup, dance technique, and silk moves in your final routine!

Level III

Aerial Tricks & Technique Level III

This class focuses on building aerial technique and learning the basic trick postures like cross-back straddle, thigh wrap, corset, and belay. Expect a warm-up, conditioning, skill-drills, and collaboration as you work on building moves into a sequence. Crash mat usage is mandatory. Bring leg and armpit coverage.

Playful Flow

The marriage between aerial flow and aerial tricks & technique; this class is less commitment than a full Tricks & Technique class while giving more challenge than Aerial Flow. Start class with floorwork meant to mimic common pathways and postures in the silk before moving into an aerial flow that has you in corset one minute and scissor splits stretch in the next. More extreme stretching and mobility work is offered in this practice.

Bring leg and armpit coverage.

Aerial Dance Level III

Back to the barre, at least for the warmup; this class will build your ballet technique and translate the lines and pathways into a final combo in the silk. Expect more aerial work than Aerial Dance Level II; no dance experience is necessary.

Level IV

Aerial Tricks & Technique Level IV

Our most physically challenging class! Start with a full-bodied silk warmup that quickly shifts from mobility work into a Playful Flow incorporating Level III tricks and transitions. Collaborate with other students or work independently as you practice the final sequence. Crash mat usage is required; bring leg and armpit coverage.
