Intro to Play Transitions Workshop:
Level 2+
Feeling clunky in your tricks? Stringing them together one by one like the beads to a friendship bracelet never worn? Okay, we’ll calm down BUT you don’t want to miss this! This workshop will help you move beyond isolated skills and work on building fluidity in your sequencing.
We’ll look at entering and exiting some of our core shapes like floating straddle, knee hooks, and wind-ups while also looking at transitions into and out of the silk itself. Expect to look not only at the mechanics of some core moves but how to use momentum, tensions, tempo, and breath to help you get there.
This workshop is best suited for students comfortable in the Level 2 classes; some Level 3 postures may be introduced or explored.

Challenge yourself this summer by trying some class formats you wouldn’t normally attend. Play Summer BINGO once per month during June, July and August to be entered into a monthly raffle for a chance to win a $25 account credit or Chrysalis merch.

If you are participating in the Summer in the Silks Challenge, you may also participate in the BINGO game. For completing one BINGO card per month during the challenge, you will receive 2 additional Challenge raffle entries per completed card. Becoming Winged: Aerial Emergence
The world is changing fast, and so are we!✨🦋✨
Spend the summer creating an aerial dance piece to be performed at the September Soiree, our community party and performance at the Ballard studio! Rehearsals include technique, composition/choreography, and performance training for our show on September 5th. If you’ve been looking to show off your skills, this is the time; expect flashing lights, costumes, and DRAMA!

No dance or performance experience is necessary, but the aerial prerequisites are there for your safety. We will spend the summer building choreography and composing a piece; we will not have time during rehearsal to work on prerequisite moves and will be jumping right into choreography.
